Notes from the Cincinnati Bengals preseason opener

The Cincinnati Bengals preseason kicked off on Friday night with a win. As the Bengals beat the Tampa Bay Buccaneers 23-12 at Paul Brown Stadium. Here are a few notes from the Bengals preseason debut.

First, a few notes on some of the notable Bengal rookies in this game. William Jackson III had a good debut, giving good effort since he has a lot to prove. After being robbed of a year due to injury, the rookie had some key defensive moments early in the game. Joe Mixon also had a relatively productive debut with the third most rushing yards of any Bengal. With Mixon collecting 31 rushing yards and 11 receiving yards on Friday.

Jake Elliott was another rookie to stand out, contributing to a quality night for the Bengals kickers. …
