Cincinnati Bengals owner and general manager Mike Brown has to love the NFL's new collective bargaining agreement. The Bengals have been notorious over the years for haggling with draft picks well into training camp and beyond. With the new "slotted" system for draft picks, the Bengals now have one of their two first round picks under contract before Memorial Day.
Dre Kirkpatrick, the Bengals choice at number 17 in April's NFL draft, agreed to terms this morning as reported by several sources. Terms of the deal have not yet been disclosed.
With Kirkpatrick's signing, the Bengals now have 6 of their 10 picks under contract. Still to sign are G Kevin Zeitler, WR Mohamed Sanu, DT Brandon Thompson and RB Daniel Herron.
