Sammy Laham, an employee of Luxe, told police that Maualuga punched him in the face, injuring him at 3:10 a.m. on Sunday morning. Maualuga will appear in court on Feb. 17, He faces up to 180 days in jail if convicted.
Maualuga could also be facing discipline from the NFL as this is not his first off-field incident. He was arrested for driving under the influence in Northern Kentucky in 2010. At that time, Maualuga successfully appealed a one-game suspension and paid a fine of over $75,000 instead.
