Chad Ochocinco to “Get His Johnson Back”

Flamboyant former Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver Chad Ochocinco is getting married soon, and in preparation, he's changing his surname back to the one he was born with, "Johnson."

Ochocinco, who spent 10 tumultuous seasons in Cincinnati before moving on to New England this past season, is scheduled to wed the co-star of his VH1 show, Evelyn Lozada. It's not clear as to whether or not Ms. Lozada objected to becoming Evelyn Lozada Ochocinco, but Johnson tweeted the news earlier this week:

“Take the [Ochocinco jerseys] down, I’ll be Johnson on July 4,”

Chad's name change could be a result of his reduced role with the Patriots as well. His numbers significantly declined this season and during the playoffs, he caught only one pass, in the second half the Patriots' Super Bowl loss. Chad's circus act was entertaining while he was a top flite player. As he toils in relative anonymity, it's just a sad caricature.

So if you've got that Ochocinco Bengals jersey, you might burn it, if you haven't already, or you might hold onto it for later. It might be worth something on E-Bay.
