While the Cincinnati Bengals issued a sigh of relief after learning several starters, including quarterback Andy Dalton weren't likely to miss any games due to injury, the Denver Broncos watched their injury list grow after a punishing loss to the Oakland Raiders on Monday night.
Already missing two starters, last year's leading tackler OLB DJ Williams and DT Ty Warren, head coach John Fox watched four more starters go down on Monday. Joining Williams and Warren are the team's best pass rusher (DE Elvis Dumerville-shoulder), the best cover corner (Champ Bailey-hamstring), their number one receiver (Brandon Lloyd-groin), and the starting tailback (Knowhson Moreno-hamstring).
If that weren't enough to give Fox a headache after just one game, he's already dealing with a quarterback controversy. Despite throwing for over 300 yards against the Raiders, Kyle Orton had to listen to Denver fans cheering for the popular Tim Tebow during the fourth quarter of a very tight game, which the Broncos ultimately dropped 23-20.
So while the Bengals are 1-0 and relieved, things are already getting tense in the Mile High City for the 0-1 Broncos.
